Classical 5

Classical 5 is all about Handel, Haydn and Holst. Handel's "Royal Fireworks" and "Water Music," along with other Baroque pieces here, have that regal 1700s sound you imagine being played in front of kings, queens and the court. Whereas Haydn, who fell into fashion in the late 1700s, was more of a string quartet kinda guy-- at least in the selections here. (Interesting side note, "Emperor’s Hymn String Quartet in C" is the basis of the German national anthem). Finally, don't miss the four Holst Planet tracks here - the bold, brassy and dramatic “Jupiter" and "Mars," and elegant “Saturn" and "Venus."
